Visit Greensboro Alabama!

In 1816, the first pioneers built up a small village to which they initially gave the name of Troy. In these early times, the country was an unbroken forest where game was plentiful. The settlers went industriously to erect houses and clear the ground for crops. By 1821, stores, hotels, saloons were established as planters, professional men, and ministers arrived. Large enough to apply for a charter, the town of Greensborough was incorporated December 24, 1823, later simplified to "Greensboro."
